How to Buy

Whether a novice bidder or a seasoned auction-goer, we want your buying experience at Eton Galleries to be as simple and enjoyable as possible. We offer a variety of options for bidding, including online, over-the-phone, or by absentee bid.
1. PRE-AUCTION – REGISTER & EXPLORE
Our auctions were conducted on www.liveauctioneers.com, www.invaluable.com, and www.ebay.com. You are required to register with our sale on the aforementioned websites whichever you are planning to bid from. You are encouraged to read our CONDITION OF SALE before you agree such terms. Be sure to register as early as possible to allow adequate time to browse our sale and make note of lots you are interested in. We are glad to provide additional photos of each lot, along with condition reports and provenance (where known), upon request. Our staff is glad to assist regarding any questions you may have; please feel free to contact us at any time. If you like to see the lots in person, please contact us as early as possible and provide us a list of items you would like to as our office is open for appointment only. We are open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only for previews upon appointment requests. If you can not show up during these days please contact us, and we will try our best to accommodate your requests. If you are a first time bidder with us, you might be required to provide additional information to complete your registration. 2. AUCTION DAY – BID

Eton Galleries currently accepts online bids, phone bids, and absentee bid.

Online – We accept online bids via Live Auctioneers, Ebay, and Invaluable (account required for each). You can register to participate from either secure bidding platform prior to the auction. Online bids may be placed as absentee bids prior to the auction, or during the auction in real time.

Absentee – Please click to download the Absentee Bid Form and follow the instructions provided. Your absentee bid will be submit along with a signed copy of CONDITION OF SALE if you have not registered. Please note that incomplete submissions WILL NOT be processed.

Phone – If you would prefer to bid with us by phone, please download the Phone Bid Form and follow the instructions provided. Please note that incomplete submissions WILL NOT be processed.

3. BID INCREMENTS
Bids are accepted in the increments shown below:

$0 – $200 – $10
$200 – $500 – $25
$500 – $1,500 – $50
$1,500 – $3,000 – $100
$3,000 – $6,000 – $200
$6,000 – $10,000 – $500
$10,000 – $20,000 – $1,000
$20,000 – $50,000 – $2,000
$50,000 – $100,000 – $5,000
$100,000 and above – Auctioneer’s Discretion
4. POST-AUCTION – PAYMENT & PICK-UP
The total sale price of each winning bid includes the hammer price, plus buyer’s premium and any applicable taxes. Our buyer’s premium is applied per lot based upon the hammer price, as follows:
 
Hammer Price:
Up to $10,000 – 24%
$10,000 – $50,000 – 19%
$50,000.00 and above – 15%
Payment is due within ten (10) days of the sale.

We accept cash, bank transfer, and pre-approved personal, business, or cashier’s checks, payable in U.S. dollars. Eton Galleries does not accept payment by credit card for amounts above $1,000.

Purchased lots will be released to the third-party shipping company of your choice upon full and complete processing of payment. Invoices totaling above $1,000 must be paid by cash, wire transfer, or bank check. Sales tax of 8.25% will be applied to purchases by Texas residents unless a valid Texas Sales and Use Tax Resale Certificate is on file with the Company. Sales tax is not applicable to those shipping to addresses outside the state of Texas using a licensed third party shipping or freight company.

Eton Galleries kindly requests removal of sold property within 10 business days following the sale date. Collection of property is between the hours of 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday; however, we will do our best to accommodate specific needs upon request.

Eton Galleries does not provide in-house packing or shipping; however, we are glad to provide a list of recommended third party companies who can provide estimates for the packing and shipping of your property.
